Our Science teachers and the Bobcat Club are excited to announce that the SLE Science Fair is back! All students are invited to create a science project individually or in groups up to three. Supplies and assistance will be available to those who would like it. Students who participate in our school fair can choose to have their project considered for the Santa Cruz County Science and Engineering Fair. Key dates below:
Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 5:30: Parent Q&A via Zoom (Meeting ID: 833 925 8958 Passcode: science)
Wednesday, December 15, 2021: Student Registration/Proposal Due
Wednesday, December 15, 2021: Volunteer Signup
Monday, February 7, 2022: final set up before school, judging during school
Tuesday, February 8, 2022: classroom walkthroughs, after school project take down
Interviewers and Other Volunteers Needed: Judging is an important part of the Science Fair experience because it allows students to practice their presentation skills, describe complicated concepts to others, and expand their thinking with new ideas. Judging is a positive and fun experience. If you have expertise in any area of science, engineering, or research, please volunteer to be a judge for the SLE Science Fair. Volunteers are also needed for set up and clean up. Volunteers must be approved by the District Office, show proof of vaccination and have fingerprints on file. See Adrienne in the office to get started as a volunteer.
