San Lorenzo Elementary School has one computer technology lab, with 35 Macs. Each computer has software for typing, word processing, spreadsheet, and multimedia presentation lessons. In addition, the school will have three carts of chromebooks for use in the 3rd-5th grade classrooms. It is our goal that all students will have the skills necessary to compete in our technological world when they graduate from high school. Therefore, technology use has become a priority throughout the district.
SLE has worked hard to provide technology education for students. In 2013-14 the district hired a technology coach that works at both elementary schools. The coach helps teacher to plan lessons for students that integrate technology into their classroom curriculum, and increase student tech skills. Teachers are also participating in professional development to learn to use technology as a tool for improving student learning.
In 2013 the district upgraded all networks in the district to high speed connections, and installed a wireless network throughout the campuses.
